OBESITY PREVENTION SUMMIT

In India, the burden of NCDs including Obesity is tremendous, which has led to an increase in health care costs. It has been observed that the cost of treating obesity is the cost of junk food marketing. Obesity is as chronic a disease as diabetes and needs treatment for life. It hampers mental and physical quality of life and hence calls for immediate attention.

With the Obesity Prevention Summit, IHW Council aims to engage key opinion leaders, engaging government authorities, national and international organisations, corporate, social & grassroots level organisations, and experts to focus on long term cure and obesity prevention. People suffering from obesity need to seek expert opinions and individually designed solutions. Integrated Health & Wellbeing Council aims to play a proactive role in “India’s fight against obesity”.

Eight years journey of the Integrated Health & Wellbeing Council inspired by UN global agenda of holistic approach to Sustainable Development Goals is a great continuous learning experience for us to help improving good health and lifestyle of people at large.
