Dr. Udita Joshi serves as Director for Projects & Research at CanSupport, where she is helping shape the future of evidence-based palliative and supportive care through research, policy engagement, and program innovation. With a strong commitment to building compassionate, accessible, and scientifically grounded healthcare systems, Dr. Joshi brings together academic rigor, implementation expertise, and a deep understanding of community health to strengthen CanSupport’s mission of ensuring dignity, comfort, and quality care for patients and families facing serious illness.
She holds a Master’s in Public Health from the Indian Institute of Public Health Delhi and has built an impressive multidisciplinary career spanning public health research, policy advisory, digital health innovation, and implementation science. Prior to joining CanSupport, she served as a Consultant with the National Health Systems Resource Centre, where she contributed to health policy synthesis, technical documentation, and strategic stakeholder engagement at the national level. She has also led research and implementation initiatives at Bangalore Hospice Trust – Karunashraya and Sangath, working on pioneering projects in digital mental health, workforce training, and palliative care delivery in collaboration with global academic institutions including Harvard Medical School.
A respected researcher and published author, Dr. Joshi has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed studies in palliative care, mental health, digital training systems, and health systems strengthening, with her work cited internationally. At CanSupport, she is driving strategic projects, implementation research, partnerships, and knowledge generation that support scalable, patient-centered models of care, reinforcing the organization’s leadership in home-based palliative care across India.
