Amreesh Chandra
Business Strategist
Global SDG Campaigner
Dr. Amreesh Chandra is a visionary strategist, educator, and global advocate for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), known for his work in embedding sustainability principles into education, community action, and organizational strategy. Appointed SDG Ambassador for India by the Dainik Jagran Group in 2016, he has championed awareness, education, and actionable engagement across the 17 SDGs—inspiring multi-stakeholder action that spans schools, universities, government agencies, and civil society networks.
With more than two decades of leadership experience, Amreesh blends strategic business insight with a deep commitment to social impact. He has reimagined traditional education models to integrate sustainability into core curricula and institutional culture, turning St. Paul’s School in Gorakhpur into India’s first SDG-aware school and laying the groundwork for initiatives that extend SDG awareness to entire communities and city-wide programs. His work emphasizes that achieving the SDGs requires collaboration across sectors—from government partners to businesses, educators, and young citizens—and that systemic change begins with informed, empowered individuals.
Beyond his educational impact, Amreesh founded The Canvas, a global SDG-focused initiative launched at the House of Lords in the UK to mobilize youth and educators toward sustainable development action. He is also recognized internationally—including as a Freeman of the City of London—for contributions to education, sustainable innovation, and cross-cultural collaboration.
As a business strategist and global SDG campaigner, Dr. Chandra’s work bridges strategic vision with practical action, empowering organizations and communities to align purpose with measurable impact and inspiring a generation of leaders committed to people, planet, and prosperity.
