Bhavana Issar
Founder & CEO
Caregiver Saathi, India.
Bhavana Issar is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Caregiver Saathi, a pioneering social enterprise in India dedicated to supporting family caregivers who provide long-term care to loved ones with chronic or life-limiting illnesses. With over twenty-five years of professional experience across global corporations, consulting, and social entrepreneurship, she has emerged as a powerful advocate for recognizing and strengthening the role of caregivers within healthcare systems and society.
Driven by a deep commitment to human-centered care, Bhavana founded Caregiver Saathi to build a technology-enabled ecosystem that empowers caregivers with knowledge, emotional support, community networks, and access to professional services. The organization focuses on improving the well-being and resilience of family caregivers who often navigate complex medical and emotional challenges while caring for patients with chronic or terminal conditions. Through support groups, counseling, learning resources, and curated care services, the platform aims to ensure that caregivers themselves receive the care, recognition, and guidance they need.
Before launching her social venture, Bhavana built an extensive career as a human resources and organizational development leader across global organizations, where she specialized in leadership development, culture transformation, and organizational strategy. She is also the founder of Sambhaavna, a consulting firm focused on building purpose-driven organizations and leadership capabilities. Her interdisciplinary expertise allows her to bridge the worlds of corporate leadership, social impact, and behavioral science in addressing complex human challenges such as caregiving and workplace well-being.
An alumna of XLRI—Xavier School of Management, Bhavana has also served as a visiting faculty member at institutions including the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and other leading management schools, sharing insights on leadership, organizational change, and human-centric systems thinking. She has been recognized as a Distinguished Alumna by XLRI and has participated in global leadership initiatives such as the WomenLift Health program focused on advancing women leaders in global health.
Through her work, Bhavana Issar continues to champion a powerful yet often overlooked dimension of healthcare—the well-being of caregivers themselves. By integrating empathy, technology, and community support, she is helping build a more inclusive and compassionate care ecosystem in India where caregivers are recognized not only as silent supporters but as essential partners in the healing journey.
