Dr. Ankur Bahl is a highly respected medical oncologist and cancer care leader, currently serving as Principal Director – Medical Oncology at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram, where he leads complex cancer treatment programs and multidisciplinary care pathways in one of India’s foremost oncology centers. With over 15 years of professional experience, he combines deep clinical expertise with research-driven practice to deliver patient-centered oncology care informed by the latest evidence and therapeutic advances.

An alumnus of Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, Dr. Bahl completed his MBBS and MD in medicine before earning a DM in medical oncology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi—one of India’s most prestigious super-specialty training programs. He also completed advanced coursework in Adverse Drug Reactions, Drug Interactions, and Pharmacovigilance at the University of Oxford, UK, underscoring his commitment to safe and high-quality therapeutic practice.

Dr. Bahl’s clinical portfolio spans immunotherapy, targeted therapies in combination with chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, and supportive and palliative care, enabling comprehensive treatment strategies across a spectrum of solid and hematological malignancies. He has authored influential research, including some of the largest real-world Indian data on targeted therapy (cetuximab) in head and neck cancer, treatment outcomes in acute myeloid leukemia, and HPV trends, advancing the national evidence base for precision oncology.

Beyond clinical care, he is the founder of several innovative oncology education platforms, including evidence-based debates, live tumour boards, master classes and workshops that cultivate learning and professional exchange among oncologists at national and international levels. His prior leadership roles include serving as Director of Medical Oncology & Hematology-Oncology at Max Hospital, Saket, and clinical postings at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre and Maulana Azad Medical College.
