Dr. Chinnababu Sunkavalli is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Grace Cancer Foundation, and one of India’s most respected surgical oncologists whose life’s mission has been to make cancer care accessible to the unreached. A pioneering robotic surgical oncologist with over two decades of clinical excellence, Dr. Sunkavalli has built a remarkable career at the intersection of advanced cancer treatment, public health innovation, and humanitarian service. His vision for Grace Cancer Foundation, founded in 2012, has been rooted in “Cure, Care, and Compassion,” transforming the organization into a global movement focused on cancer awareness, early detection, treatment support, rehabilitation, and research for underserved communities across continents.

Academically distinguished from the very beginning, Dr. Sunkavalli completed his MBBS from JJM Medical College, followed by an MS in General Surgery from Government Medical College, Surat, where he emerged as a university topper and gold medalist. He later earned his M.Ch in Surgical Oncology from Gujarat Cancer Research Institute, securing an All India top rank, and further refined his expertise through fellowships at globally renowned institutions including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Long Beach Memorial Hospital, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, and advanced robotic surgery centers in France and Japan.

As a clinician, educator, researcher, and social entrepreneur, Dr. Sunkavalli has performed thousands of complex cancer surgeries and has been instrumental in introducing robotic and minimally invasive oncological surgery to newer frontiers. Through Grace Cancer Foundation, he has pioneered low-cost mobile cancer screening programs, touched millions of lives globally, and led record-breaking public health campaigns that earned two Guinness World Records for breast and oral cancer screening, along with a Limca Book of Records recognition for cervical cancer screening.
