Dr. Dinesh Arora is a distinguished physician, Indian Administrative Service officer, and public health leader who has played a pivotal role in shaping India’s flagship healthcare transformation initiatives, particularly through his work with the National Health Authority (NHA) and the Ayushman Bharat program. With more than two decades of experience spanning governance reform, health systems strengthening, and large-scale public program design across India and international regions, he is widely recognized for combining clinical insight with administrative leadership to drive impactful policy implementation.

As Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Authority and a key architect in the early design and rollout of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Dr. Arora helped operationalize one of the world’s largest publicly funded health assurance schemes, aimed at expanding equitable access to healthcare for millions of vulnerable citizens. His work has focused on strengthening institutional frameworks, improving governance mechanisms, and enabling data-driven health policy execution to enhance efficiency, transparency, and outcomes.

Earlier, as Director (Health) at NITI Aayog, he contributed to policy formulation and program development that laid the groundwork for transformative national health reforms.
