Dr. Hiren Ambegaokar is a highly experienced healthcare leader and physician‑administrator currently serving as Group CEO of Surya Hospitals, a growing network of multi‑specialty healthcare institutions in India. With a medical degree in anesthesiology (MBBS, DA, MD) from T.N. Medical College & BYL Nair Hospital, Mumbai, he practiced as an anesthesiologist for more than two decades, specializing in labor anesthesia and perioperative care before transitioning into healthcare management and leadership.

Seeking to broaden his impact beyond individual clinical practice, Dr. Ambegaokar pursued advanced studies in healthcare administration and management, completing a postgraduate program in Healthcare Management from the Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research with distinction and topping his class. Subsequently, he held senior leadership positions, including Senior Medical Superintendent and Vice President – Medical Services at Seven Hills Hospital, Mumbai, and later Regional Medical Director for the South & West Region at Fortis Healthcare, where he was responsible for clinical oversight across multiple hospital units in Mumbai, Bangalore, and Chennai.

In 2018, Dr. Ambegaokar joined S.L. Raheja Hospital—A Fortis Associate as CEO, leading its clinical and operational strategy, enhancing quality and safety frameworks, and driving patient‑centric growth. He subsequently took on the expanded role of Group CEO at Surya Hospitals, where he applies his three decades of experience to shaping the network’s development, service excellence, and organizational culture.
