Dr. K. Madan Gopal is a senior public health expert with over three decades of experience in health sector reforms and health systems strengthening in India. An MBBS and MD in Preventive and Social Medicine, he has led several national and state-level initiatives focused on public health governance, health financing, insurance, community engagement, and digital health. He played a key role in designing and implementing programs such as the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY), Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY, and the Aspirational Districts Programme. As a former Senior Consultant (Health) with NITI Aayog and currently Advisor – Public Health Administration at NHSRC, MoHFW, he continues to guide policy reforms, IPHS implementation, medical education expansion, and integrated approaches to health equity, urban health, senior care, and disease surveillance. Dr. Gopal brings deep insights into health systems transformation and intersectoral convergence, making him a valued contributor to India’s policy think spaces.
