Dr. Kiran Vasant Godse is one of India’s most distinguished dermatologists, clinician-scientists, and academicians, currently serving as Professor, Department of Dermatology, Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Nerul, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. With over 36 years of clinical and academic experience, he has made significant contributions to dermatology, particularly in the fields of urticaria, contact dermatitis, psoriasis, vitiligo, and clinical allergy. He is widely recognized for combining clinical excellence with impactful research and medical education.

Dr. Godse completed his MBBS from the University of Bombay in 1986, followed by a Diploma in Dermatology (DDV/DVD) in 1988 and an MD in Dermatology from Topiwala National Medical College & B.Y.L. Nair Charitable Hospital, Mumbai in 1990. He later earned a Ph.D. in Dermatology & Venereology from Dr. D. Y. Patil University and was also conferred the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), Glasgow, reflecting his outstanding contributions to dermatology and medical research.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Godse has been actively involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical students while mentoring young dermatologists and researchers. His primary research interests include chronic urticaria, atopic dermatitis, drug allergies, psoriasis, vitiligo, and evidence-based dermatological therapies. He has authored more than 300 scientific publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals and has delivered over 200 invited lectures and presentations at prestigious dermatology conferences across India and abroad, making him one of the country’s most widely published dermatologists.

Dr. Godse has received numerous national and international honours for his academic excellence and research contributions. He was awarded the prestigious IADVL Oration on Urticaria (2010) and has received competitive scholarships from the World Congress of Dermatology, the International Congress of Dermatology, and the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV). He also received the Imrich Sarkany Grant and the EADV Fostering Scholarship, enabling advanced training in allergy and immunodermatology at the Medical University of Hannover, Germany.

An active member of leading international professional organizations, Dr. Godse is affiliated with the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), and the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI).
