Dr. Kunal Sharma is a distinguished oncopathologist and diagnostic specialist who serves as associate director & head of the Centre of Excellence (Histopathology) at the Global Reference Laboratory of Agilus Diagnostics in Mumbai. In this role, he leads one of the company’s most advanced pathology units, overseeing high-volume histopathology and oncopathology diagnostics while contributing to innovation in digital pathology and artificial intelligence-driven diagnostic workflows.

With extensive expertise in cancer diagnostics, Dr. Sharma focuses on areas such as oncopathology, hematolymphoid malignancies, uropathology, lung and breast cancers, and molecular-based cancer diagnostics. His department handles complex oncology cases and operates advanced immunohistochemistry and molecular diagnostic platforms to support precise disease diagnosis and treatment planning.

Before joining Agilus Diagnostics, Dr. Sharma held leadership roles in several leading diagnostic and healthcare institutions. He served as Head of Histopathology and Flow Cytometry at SRL Reference Laboratory and Fortis Hospitals in Bengaluru and earlier worked as an oncopathologist and molecular pathologist at organizations including CORE Diagnostics and HealthCare Global. His experience spans histopathology, flow cytometry, molecular pathology, and quality assurance in advanced diagnostic laboratories.

Dr. Sharma is also an active contributor to academic and scientific research. He has authored and presented studies in international medical journals and conferences, including research on lymphomas and other complex hematological malignancies. His work has been presented at global forums such as the International Leukemia, Lymphoma & Myeloma Congress and major oncology conferences.

In addition to clinical practice, he participates in professional education and international conferences as a speaker and faculty member, sharing insights on advances in histopathology, companion diagnostics, and precision oncology. Through his work in diagnostics and research, Dr. Kunal Sharma continues to contribute to improving the accuracy of cancer diagnosis and advancing modern pathology practices in India.
