Dr. Narayana Subramaniam is a nationally and internationally acclaimed head and neck oncologist and reconstructive surgeon based in Bengaluru. He specializes in ablative surgery for cancers of the oral cavity, oropharynx, salivary glands, thyroid, larynx, pharynx, sinonasal cavity, and anterior skull base. He has extensive experience in salvage and reoperative surgery and is skilled in regional and microvascular (free flap) reconstruction, with special interests in facial nerve reanimation, prefabricated dental rehabilitation (jaw-in-a-day), and secondary reconstruction of post-cancer defects.

Dr. Subramaniam completed his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from MS Ramaiah Medical College, Bengaluru, followed by a diplomate from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. He earned his MCh in Head and Neck Oncology from the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, a leading center for ablative and reconstructive training. He further received advanced certification in transoral robotic surgery (TORS) from the University of Pennsylvania and robotic surgery from Delhi. He completed an advanced fellowship at the prestigious Sydney Head and Neck Cancer Institute, Australia, where he trained extensively in microvascular reconstruction, facial reanimation, and implant-driven jaw reconstruction.

Deeply committed to affordable healthcare, Dr. Subramaniam is involved in several low-cost cancer screening and early detection initiatives. He serves as the Bengaluru Chapter Chair of the AIMA Young Leaders Council, working to strengthen healthcare partnerships, and is the Oncology Mentor for GE India’s Edison Accelerator, one of India’s largest health-tech startup incubators.

At Aster International Institute of Oncology, Bengaluru, he is the Lead Consultant for Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team across otolaryngology, surgical oncology, maxillofacial surgery, prosthodontics, and rehabilitation. He is passionate about integrating emerging technologies into clinical practice to enhance outcomes, reduce costs, and elevate patient experience.
