Dr. Priyanshu Mathur is a distinguished pediatrician, genetic medicine specialist, and academic leader serving as Associate Professor of Pediatric Medicine at JK Lone Hospital, SMS Medical College in Jaipur, India, where he combines clinical excellence with research, teaching, and leadership in rare and complex pediatric disorders. Known for his compassionate patient-centered approach and deep expertise in metabolic and genetic conditions in children, Dr. Mathur has become a recognized figure in advancing pediatric care and genetic diagnostics in the region.
An outstanding student from the outset, he completed his MBBS from Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences, Bellary (where he was awarded gold medals in pediatric medicine and obstetrics & gynecology) and his MD in Pediatrics from Dr. S. N. Medical College, Jodhpur. He further pursued advanced training in medical genetics and genetic counselling through an Indian Council of Medical Research program at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, as well as specialized training in metabolic genetics and newborn screening at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, USA, and myopathy studies at Institut de Myologie in Paris, France, equipping him with a global perspective on rare disease management.
At SMS Medical College, he leads clinical services for children with a broad spectrum of conditions, with particular focus on rare pediatric disorders and metabolic and inherited diseases, and runs a weekly pediatric rare disease clinic that serves families from across Rajasthan. His academic contributions include more than twenty publications in national and international journals and co-authorship of the textbook Rare Diseases in Pediatrics, reflecting his commitment to expanding clinical knowledge and improving care standards.
Dr. Mathur is also known for his dedication to teaching and mentorship. He is a popular instructor among undergraduate and postgraduate students, shaping future pediatricians through classroom instruction, bedside teaching, and clinical supervision.
