Dr. (Prof.) Jyoti Bajpai is a distinguished medical oncologist and one of India’s leading voices in precision oncology, currently serving as lead of medical & precision oncology at Apollo Hospitals in Navi Mumbai. With more than two decades of experience in oncology, she has built a reputation for combining cutting-edge scientific innovation with deeply patient-centric cancer care. Her clinical mission focuses on advancing personalized cancer treatment through precision medicine, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies, enabling treatment strategies tailored to the biological characteristics of each patient’s tumor.

Dr. Bajpai’s academic journey reflects a strong foundation in clinical excellence and research. She completed her super-specialization in medical oncology (DM) from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and subsequently undertook advanced international training in immuno-oncology and melanoma at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and sarcoma research at Johns Hopkins University. Her global training has enabled her to introduce internationally aligned cancer care protocols in India while championing innovation in emerging therapeutic approaches.

Before joining Apollo, Dr. Bajpai spent nearly fifteen years at Tata Memorial Centre, where she rose to the position of professor of medical oncology and served as convener of the Breast Disease Management Group. During this period, she contributed significantly to the development of multidisciplinary cancer management frameworks and played a pivotal role in shaping advanced oncology education and clinical research in the region.

An internationally respected researcher and thought leader, Dr. Bajpai has authored more than 200 scientific publications and frequently presents at major global oncology forums. Her research focuses on rare and complex cancers, including sarcomas and pregnancy-associated cancers, as well as improving access to cost-effective cancer care in low- and middle-income countries.

She is also deeply engaged in professional leadership and policy advocacy, serving as founding general secretary of the Immuno-Oncology Society of India and holding leadership roles in several global oncology bodies, including the European Society for Medical Oncology and the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer. Through clinical practice, research, and global collaboration, Dr. Jyoti Bajpai continues to advance the frontiers of precision oncology while championing compassionate, equitable, and evidence-driven cancer care.
