Dr. Reena Nakra is the Principal Director, Lab Management and Technical Excellence at Dr Lal PathLabs Ltd. She provides strategic leadership across medical, clinical, scientific, and research functions. With over 15 years of experience in diagnostic and reference laboratory operations across India, she brings strong expertise in laboratory medicine, medical diagnostics, cost optimisation, and the introduction of new tests and technologies. She is also a recognised advocate for the use of Artificial Intelligence in diagnostics and healthcare.

Throughout her career, Dr. Nakra has held key roles in lab operations, mergers and acquisitions, integration of lab networks, and academia, consistently focusing on innovation, precision, and rapid turnaround times. She strengthened her medical training with specialised certifications in genetic sequencing technologies and AI in healthcare, along with management credentials from Cornell University and IIM Ahmedabad in Strategic Healthcare Leadership and M&A.

A graduate of the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, she earned her MBBS and completed her MD in Pathology before obtaining advanced certifications in genetic testing, sequencing, cancer genomics, and precision medicine from Harvard Medical School (HMx). As an ISO 15189 (NABL) certified internal auditor, she has successfully led numerous labs through CAP and NABL inspections. She is also an active member of the Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (IAPM).

Dr. Nakra is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and has several peer-reviewed publications. She strongly supports industry partnerships in health policy, skill development, and emerging technologies. She has represented the diagnostics industry in task forces under FICCI and the Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HCSSC) to enhance quality standards and workforce skills.
