Dr. Sarman Singh is a distinguished physician, scientist, academic leader, and administrator whose career has significantly shaped clinical microbiology research and institutional healthcare leadership in India. He completed his MBBS from King George’s Medical College, Lucknow, followed by an MD in Clinical Microbiology from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, and advanced epidemiology training at the University of Michigan, USA—foundations that have underpinned more than three decades of impactful work in infectious disease diagnostics and public health sciences.

A widely recognized authority in infections such as leishmaniasis, toxoplasmosis, tuberculosis, and viral hepatitis, Dr. Singh has led cutting-edge research that bridges molecular diagnostics, translational science, and clinical application. His scholarly record includes hundreds of peer-reviewed publications, leadership on national and international research projects, editorial roles in scientific journals, and mentorship of numerous doctoral and postgraduate scholars.
