He has led multiple high-impact genome sequencing projects, including the Indian water buffalo, great Indian bustard, Indian Bengal tiger, pomegranate, mango, Indian wild dog, mosquito, shrimp, leopard, and several other key species. His team is also pioneering the full-length genome and transcriptome sequencing of Indian citizens, significantly advancing precision medicine and population genomics in India.
