Kunal Kapoor is a multifaceted Indian actor, entrepreneur, and social impact leader whose career bridges cinema, innovation, and philanthropy. Born on 18 October 1977 in Mumbai, he began his journey in the film industry as an assistant director and theatre artist before making his acting debut in M.F. Husain’s Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities (2004). He gained widespread recognition with roles in critically and commercially successful films such as Rang De Basanti, Don 2, Bachna Ae Haseeno, and Dear Zindagi, showcasing his versatility and depth as a performer.

While acting established his public profile, Kapoor’s deeper mission emerged through his passion for social change. In 2012, he co‑founded Ketto.org, one of Asia’s largest crowdfunding platforms, alongside Varun Sheth and Zaheer Adenwala. The platform was conceived to democratize fundraising by using technology to bridge the gap between people in need and those willing to help, making it easier for individuals, NGOs, and organizations to raise funds for health emergencies, education, disaster relief, women’s empowerment, and other social causes.

Under Kapoor’s leadership and advocacy, Ketto has become a trusted space for impactful campaigns, raising substantial funds for crises such as medical emergencies and natural disasters, and empowering millions of donors and campaigners across India and beyond.

Beyond acting and entrepreneurship, Kapoor’s interests span aviation—he’s a trained pilot—motorsports, and writing, reflecting his restless curiosity and drive to explore diverse fields. He is also an active angel investor and a member of leadership networks that connect change‑makers globally.

Married to Naina Bachchan, a banker and member of the iconic Bachchan family, Kapoor balances his creative and social endeavors with family life, continuously seeking ways to blend purpose with his professional pursuits.
