Praveen Bist is an accomplished healthcare technology leader and serves as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Amrita Hospitals, a leading tertiary-care healthcare network anchored in India’s largest private hospital campuses, including its flagship facilities in Faridabad and Kochi. In this strategic role, he drives the organisation’s digital transformation agenda, leveraging advanced information systems, data analytics, AI, and integrated hospital technologies to enhance care delivery, streamline clinical workflows and elevate operational performance across the hospital’s sprawling multi-speciality ecosystem.

Praveen’s professional journey combines global experience with deep domain expertise. He holds a B.Tech degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and earned a Master of Science from The Ohio State University in the United States. Before joining Amrita Hospitals in 2004, he worked with international technology firms including i2 Technologies in Dallas, where he focused on supply chain and ERP solutions — foundations that have shaped his approach to enterprise-scale health IT deployments.

At Amrita, Mr Bist has led the design and implementation of the hospital’s integrated digital infrastructure, centring on a comprehensive Hospital Information System (HIS) and a fully networked Electronic Medical Records (EMR) platform that supports the end-to-end patient journey from admission through discharge. His work emphasises interoperability, clinician mobility, real-time data access and cybersecurity, creating a digitally enabled care environment where medical devices, IoT tools and analytics are seamlessly connected to enhance clinical decision-making and operational efficiency.
