Dr. Anup B. Thakar is a distinguished Ayurvedic scholar, clinician, and institutional leader who currently serves as Director of the Institute for Postgraduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda in Jamnagar, one of India’s premier centers for advanced Ayurvedic education and research. With an academic foundation that includes an M.D. (Ayu) and Ph.D., he specializes in Panchakarma, Kayachikitsa (internal medicine), and Vajeekarana (reproductive health), blending deep classical knowledge with modern research methodologies to elevate clinical practice and scholarly inquiry within Ayurveda.

Dr. Thakar’s career spans more than two decades of dedicated teaching and research, during which he has trained, mentored, and guided over 60 MD and Ph.D. scholars, significantly contributing to the development of future Ayurvedic scientists, clinicians, and educators.
