Prof. Vaidya Kartar Singh Dhiman is a highly respected Ayurvedic physician, scholar, researcher, and academic leader who serves as the vice chancellor of Shri Krishna AYUSH University, Kurukshetra (Haryana)—India’s first specialized AYUSH university dedicated to holistic education and research in Ayurveda, yoga, Unani, Siddha, homeopathy, and allied systems. His distinguished career spans more than two and a half decades of academic, clinical, and scientific endeavor across premier institutions and national research bodies in the traditional medicine ecosystem.

Dr. Dhiman holds a Ph.D. in Ayurveda (Shalakya) from Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi, and an MD in Ayurveda (Shalakya) from Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar—qualifications that underscore his deep expertise in Ayurvedic ophthalmology and clinical sciences. He began his professional journey in teaching and research at reputed institutions such as IPGT&RA and Gujarat Ayurved University, where he not only enriched academic programs but also guided doctoral and postgraduate scholars, contributing significantly to the advancement of Ayurvedic knowledge.

Before his appointment as vice chancellor, Prof. Dhiman held the prestigious position of director general of the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India—a national apex body for Ayurveda research on scientific lines. Under his leadership at CCRAS, he strengthened evidence-based research, medicinal plant studies, clinical and new drug development, and international collaboration, helping integrate traditional knowledge with contemporary health challenges.

In July 2023, he assumed leadership of Shri Krishna AYUSH University, where he champions a vision of excellence in AYUSH education, research rigor, and innovation that aligns classical wisdom with modern health needs. He has actively worked on enhancing academic quality, transparent admissions, curriculum development, and institutional collaboration—fostering an environment where students are trained not only as practitioners but also as holistic healers and scholars committed to community welfare.

An author of multiple scientific publications and books, an editor of peer-reviewed journals, and a frequent speaker at national and international conferences, Prof. Dhiman has been recognized for bridging tradition with contemporary practice. His leadership continues to elevate AYUSH institutions, inspire research excellence, and strengthen India’s indigenous healthcare legacy.
