Raghavendra Goud Vaggu is a biotechnology industry leader and currently serves as the Global Chief Executive Officer of EMPE Diagnostics Global (part of the EMPE Group). With over 25 years of experience in the life sciences, biotechnology, and biopharmaceutical sectors, he has played a significant role in advancing diagnostic technologies and expanding global access to innovative healthcare solutions.

As Global CEO, Vaggu is responsible for steering EMPE’s international strategy, business growth, and technology development. The company focuses on precision diagnostics, particularly for infectious diseases such as tuberculosis. Under his leadership, EMPE has worked on developing rapid and affordable diagnostic platforms, including molecular-based tests that help detect drug-resistant tuberculosis and improve early treatment outcomes.

Before joining EMPE, he held senior leadership roles at Cytiva (formerly part of GE Healthcare Life Sciences), where he led operations across India and South Asia. In that capacity, he managed a large regional business and oversaw a team of more than 160 professionals while driving significant revenue growth and expanding the company’s life-sciences solutions portfolio in the region.

Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Vaggu is actively involved in the biotechnology innovation ecosystem. He serves as an advisor or board member for emerging biotech and diagnostic startups, including companies such as Xact Diagnotek, ATGC Biotech, GenePoweRx, and TranScell Biologics. He also contributes to academic and policy initiatives as a member of the Board of Studies at KIIT University and as a technical expert on the evaluation panel of the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), supporting funding and innovation in India’s biotech sector.
