Sachin Sarcoma Society

Rashi Kapoor, a two-time cancer survivor and a member of the Sachin Sarcoma Society. My journey began with a molar pregnancy treated successfully at AIIMS, but in 2016, I was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma, a rare cancer affecting one in a million. After years of unexplained knee pain, multiple tests, and conflicting diagnoses, a biopsy confirmed the disease. My case was complex, and many doctors advised amputation. Refusing to give up, I travelled to Tata Memorial Hospital, where Dr. Ashish Gulia performed a successful arthrodesis limb-salvage surgery. I later underwent radiation and five cycles of chemotherapy, overcoming severe side effects with courage, yoga, gardening, and the unwavering support of my family. Surviving cancer twice transformed me. I now live with gratitude and purpose, helping raise awareness and hope for sarcoma patients through the Sachin Sarcoma Society. My journey is a reminder that with strength and positivity, life can be rebuilt.
