Sunil Thakur is a leading healthcare investor and growth-equity executive, serving as Partner & Head – South Asia at Quadria Capital, one of Asia’s largest healthcare-focused private equity firms with multi-billion-dollar assets under management and a strong track record of scaling innovative healthcare businesses across South and Southeast Asia. In this role, he is responsible for originating and executing major healthcare investments, driving strategic value creation, and guiding portfolio companies through growth, operational scaling, and high-impact partnerships that expand access to quality care across diverse markets.
Sunil brings more than two decades of investing, mergers & acquisitions, and capital markets experience to his leadership at Quadria, where he has led complex, multi-billion-dollar transactions in healthcare delivery, services, and allied sectors. He is also a co-founder of HealthQuad, India’s largest healthcare venture capital firm focused on early-stage, tech-enabled health innovation, reflecting his dual commitment to both growth equity and entrepreneurial healthcare ecosystems.
Under his strategic guidance, Quadria has made marquee investments in leading Indian healthcare platforms—including significant backing for dialysis leader NephroPlus and specialty eye-care provider Maxivision Super Speciality Eye Hospitals—helping these organizations scale their offerings, broaden patient reach, and deepen clinical impact, particularly across underserved tier-2 and tier-3 markets. His perspective on value creation emphasizes aligning capital with long-term clinical outcomes and sustainable business models.
In addition to his core role at Quadria, Sunil serves as a board member for several of the firm’s key portfolio companies, including HealthCare at Home India, NephroPlus, and Maxivision Super Speciality Eye Hospitals, where he collaborates with management teams to refine strategy, strengthen governance, and navigate growth challenges. This board engagement reflects both his investment acumen and his deep commitment to advancing healthcare delivery across India and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
Sunil holds a master’s degree from the Delhi School of Economics, and before joining Quadria, he worked in investment banking with Religare Capital Markets and PNB Gilts, where he developed strong foundations in financial analysis, deal execution, and market strategy. His career embodies a blend of financial discipline, healthcare insight, and strategic leadership—all directed toward strengthening and scaling impactful healthcare enterprises that improve access, quality, and value in one of the world’s most dynamic healthcare markets.
