Ziqitza Healthcare
Dr. Sweta Mangal is a renowned social entrepreneur and healthcare innovator best known as co-founder and former CEO of Ziqitza Health Care Limited (ZHL), one of India’s pioneering and largest emergency medical services organizations dedicated to saving lives through accessible, high-quality pre-hospital care. She helped conceive and build Ziqitza from its inception in 2005, with a powerful vision to bridge the critical gap in emergency response infrastructure across India by creating a professional, networked ambulance service on par with 911 in the United States and 999 in the United Kingdom—a mission that has since expanded to manage thousands of ambulances across multiple states and serve millions of people in emergency situations.
Sweta’s academic foundation includes an MBA from the Rochester Institute of Technology, USA, and she was also a Gurukul Chevening Scholar at the London School of Economics, experiences that enriched her strategic thinking and capacity to lead complex health-system initiatives. Under her leadership, Ziqitza grew its emergency response network, formalized operations under both public–private partnership and pay-per-service models, and championed the professionalization of emergency medical services in India—a contribution that has reshaped how pre-hospital care is delivered across the country’s urban and rural landscapes.
Sweta’s influence extends beyond ambulance services. She is also co-founder and director of the LifeSupporters Institute of Health Sciences (LIHS), an institute dedicated to equipping healthcare providers with life-saving skills and certification, and she founded Mangal Newton School in her hometown in Rajasthan, reflecting a broader commitment to community well-being and education.
Her efforts have been recognized on national and global stages; she has been honored with awards including ET Inspiring Women Leaders 2023 for Healthcare Leadership, Women Entrepreneur of the Year, and listing among Forbes Asia’s “30 Social Entrepreneurs Under 30,” highlighting both her impact and leadership presence in healthcare and social enterprise.
Driven by a deep belief that rapid, reliable emergency response saves lives and strengthens health systems, Sweta Mangal continues to shape inclusive health-care innovation, mentorship, and community-centered impact—inspiring a generation of leaders in emergency medicine and health services delivery.
